Decontamination Assurance

We can assist in determining the contamination status of materials, environments and equipment. Our experts can advise on the remediation and testing of complex equipment, including those with internal structures or fluid pathways. We can assist in determining the effectiveness of remediation protocols or of decontamination schema, and of equipment or processes intended to effect decontamination. We offer testing services to determine the effectiveness of materials employed in decontamination processes, such as filter substrates or disinfectants.

Process challenge testing: We can develop and provide challenge testing procedures for medical equipment, including the formulation of bespoke test soils and microbial cultures for use in process challenge devices (PCDs), and quantification of subsequent decontamination or disinfection effects.

Root-cause analysis: We can assist with investigations to determine the causative agents of microbial contamination events and determine the pathways by which the causative agent may have been introduced. We can also support in the development of suitable monitoring solutions or protocols for ongoing surveillance of a contamination issue.

Endoscopy and Sterile Services: We have extensive experience in the field of endoscopy, include performance testing of endoscope washer disinfectors and surgical instrument washers. We provide clean room validation, in residual protein testing and detection, and detection and genomic identification of contaminating microbes. All of our testing services are compliant with industry standards including HTM 01-06, ISO 15883 and ISO 14644.

Biofilm remediation: We have experience in a range of methods to detect the presence and extent of biofilms. We can produce biofilms in a variety of configurations and on various substrates to simulate real-world challenges and investigate the effectiveness of disinfectants and removal processes. We also have experience working with and validating a variety of biofilm-removing chemistries, including enzymatic products, surfactants and quats.

Disinfection efficacy testing: We can assess the effectiveness of disinfectants and provide a quantitative analysis of decontamination capabilities. We can also support in the development of novel disinfection chemistries.
